Tomorrow I will be attending the Immigrant Youth Empoweremnt Conference (IYEC) at LA. I will try to get as much information as possible to use it as a tool for our mentees that are facing the same type of problems. I will let you guys know how it goes.

TODAY WAS A FUN DAY..IT WE BETTER THEN WE EXPECTED.

Cantua Visit

Hello Guys,

Today Janeth and I went to Cantua to visit our Mentees.  It was pretty cool to see them again. Both of them will be attending High School at Tranquility next fall, (if um not wrong). They will be attending summer school, not because they have to but because they would like to get some high school credit.

The Ceviche Party at Parlier High

The Mini-Party at Palier High was fun... Today Janeth and I went to visit our mentees and had a mini party with them to celebreate our hard work and their dedication. As you can see we started with only 8 Student and now we have around 15... Some of them are not in the picture because they were running late to class...

It was pretty Fun because Maria hates sea food y la oficina olia a PESCADERIA ... LOL I really wanna thank her for helping us out. Another person I would like to Thank is Janeth's mom for making the Ceviche.... It was pretty good that I brough some for Lunch to work... lol

Grand Occasions

Today was a great day. I get to meet some great people. They are some
very respectful people that are there to listen. I am greatful to be invited to events
like these. I learned a lot today but I wished i would of got a taste of that tasty lunch. Once again,

Parlier jr. High Visit

Good Morning Team,

I just wanna share some pics with all u guys..... Today Janeth and I went to visit our Middle School Students from Parlier Jr. High. It was great to see my killers' face. I only have two students from Palier Jr. High but it seems our group will grow pretty soon... I don't know if it was cuz of the pizzas and sodas but they were there. lol I got their contact info and hopefully they will go to our next meeting.

Another thing i wanna share is that I might take my mentees to the Empowerment Conference that is taking place in Los Angeles. I talked to Maria Aguilar and she is helping me out to get the district approval.  

Immigration Youth Empowerment Conference

Good Morning Team,

I got a phone call from one of friends from Dinuba High School. He invited me to attend an Empowerment Conference at LA.  You will learn about AB540/ Dream Act updates. Perhaps this is not your situation but some of you mentees might be undocumented. I will attend this conference for my own benefit and to help my mentees as well. If you would to attend please give Mr. Gomez a call at 559-816-5673 for additional information. It is very important to call him ASAP because they would like to know how many people will be attending. Bus and food will be provided. Golden Plains Visit

Hello Team,

Just wanted to share this pics with you before going to bed....  I know it is late but i just go out from work... lol 

Today Janeth and I went all morning to Tranquility and Catua with the migrant liaisons. We spent like one hour and half with them talking about the different upcoming events and the different activities we have done so far. 

I don't know if it is your case or not but it is very important that you let your migrant liaisons know that all students are welcome to the program as long if they are migrant. Well, even if they are not migrants we can help them out but the benefits such as leadership academies might not apply to those. The reason I am saying this it is because our migrant liaison was thinking that only the students who went to the camp were part of the program. She gave us a list with some other migrant students and hopefully they will join us pretty soon. 

They are having a Migrant Mini Conference this coming June 6, I think,  if anyone would like to attend just give me a call cause i have to turn in an application or something like that. 

After our meeting with them we went to see some of our mentees. They are doing great. I was very happy to see them again.
