Hello fellow Mentors!!
Today was a great day for Ricardo and I!!! We had our first official meeting at Riverdale High School. We had a great turnout. Although we only have about 35 minutes during lunch we got a lot accomplished; we did the ice breaker where each student writes a question on a piece of paper then they fold it, then when all the students have their questions they throw the piece of paper across until everyone has a piece of paper, then we go around as a group and answer those questions. It was a neat activity, I recorded it so now I have to upload it so you can all see!!! So our meetings are officially on Fridays.
As for Caruthers we have our first official meeting on Tuesday also during lunch. The staff from Caruthers was kind enough to set up the appointment for us and also the students who will be attending. As if it wasn't enough what they are doing for us, they are also providing lunch for our first meeting! This is awesome for us because now we can buy snacks for the students for future meetings. I am really excited to meet with the mentees from Caruthers!!!
